One of the easiest—and most underutilized—interior design strategies is the draping of furniture in simple, cotton canvas painter's drop cloths.

I used to do this back in my wilder younger bachelor days. I was a renovator, so it follows.... I also have a giant old American flag that I still sometimes use as a bedspread. Looks really cool, too....
any good suggestions for something that would work for a sofa? mine's been ruined by the cat, and we need a simple solution. I don't really like any of the slip covers I've found, and to have a custom one to match the Troy sofa from Crate & Barrell, is pretty much the same cost as just buying a new sofa!
I love using drop cloths! I've made 2 pairs of curtains, and am about to recover my sofa with this awesome material!
I use drop cloths all over my artist's studio! The last one was purchased to cover my couch. Keeps the space feeling a little more open and airy! I may use one our our bed as we have a kitty that likes to run across it and his claws snag anything too delicate. I love the versatility of this item...
